News is that Gov. Nikki Haley will appoint Representative Tim Scott to be the next Senator from South Carolina. Scott is an African-American and that will make him the centered target of rage from the very people who say that Republicans should stop being the “old white man” party. The fact is, they have a huge political stake in maintaining that false facade. Tremendous energy will be put into defeating and/or discrediting Scott precisely because he isn’t white.
