Senator Cardin: Gates’s Portrayal of Obama a Sales Stunt

Senator Ben Cardin (D., Md.) said on Fox New Sunday that he thinks Robert Gates, in his negative portrayal of President Obama in his new memoir, is merely trying to market his book.

Speaking of what host John Roberts called the “unflattering portrait” of President Obama in Gates’s new book, Cardin said, “I think its unfortunate that we see it in a book, it looks like in an effort to make the book more popular on the newsstands.”

He added, “In his book he gives his praise to President Obama making decisive decisions — just about every decision he made Secretary Gates agreed with.”
