Senator John Cornyn’s office has launched an online “hotline” for Texans who believe they were unfairly targeted by the IRS to share their stories. Cornyn has already highlighted three separate cases of constituents in a video — including True the Vote, which has filed suit against the IRS — and encourages other groups to speak out.

“Let’s make it clear that Texans will not stand for the kind of behavior typically associated with corrupt tin-pot dictators — not with the greatest democracy in the world,” he writes on his website.

Cornyn took part in this morning’s Senate Finance Committee hearing on the IRS’s targeting and asked the agency’s former commissioner Douglas Shulman to apologize for its targeting of his constituents; Shulman did not offer an explicit apology.
