Sex and Lies

Rob Stein has an article in the Washington Post on new federal data on rates of teen sexual activity. (Apparently they file reports these days.) I have no real quarrel with the article, except for this passage: “Coming on the heels of reports that one in four teenage girls has a sexually transmitted disease and that the teen birth rate has increased for the first time in 15 years, the data is triggering alarm across the ideological spectrum” (emphasis mine). This statistic is going to be hard to kill, but it deserves a decent burial.
