Shana Tovah

Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, is an occasion for spiritual self-examination. Whatever one’s personal failings, just this moment they may be easier to contemplate than the stock market. And more amenable to improvement. So, I will watch from afar for the next two days, and hope that things are better when I check back in.  A happy, healthy and sweet new year to all readers, especially those who will be celebrating.

(Including Bill Clinton, who, last week, told Larry King that he would be taking off the Jewish holidays before returning to the campaign trail for Barack Obama. So, especially Bill.)
