CNN received a great deal of criticism yesterday for inaccurately reporting that authorities had arrested a Boston-bombing suspect, but MSNBC’s Al Sharpton and PBS’s Gwen Ifill also took issue with reporter John King’s description of the suspect being “a dark-skinned male.” On his show last night, Sharpton called the comments “coded, offensive language” and said they “have no place in our discourse.”
Meanwhile, Ifill tweeted that it was “disturbing” for King to describe the supposed suspect that way.
Disturbing that it's OK for TV to ID a Boston bombing suspect only as "a dark-skinned individual."

The FBI released the photos of two actual suspects from the bombing this afternoon, both of whom appear to be light-skinned.
