What was most striking to me today was that the subject of abortion came up exactly once, by Minority Leader John Boehner. And, the president of the United States, sitting next to his “pro-choice Catholic” secretary of HHS, didn’t feel the need to actually respond. Perhaps he considered her presence next to him cover enough. The fact of the matter is that what is on the table violates the consciences of millions of Americans. And the White House message today could be well expressed by a Rahm-like expletive.
The White House simply does not care about your objections. Which, frankly, would well describe it’s attitude on a whole host of criticisms.
UPDATE: I spoke too soon, Speaker Pelosi wagged her finger at the finish line and lied. And the president quickly shut the show down for his closing lecture.
