There have been some polls showing Republicans losing the shutdown fight only narrowly, which is an accomplishment, since the dynamics of a shutdown are naturally stacked against the party. But a couple of new polls show the image of the party could be sustaining real damage. First, there was the Gallup poll noted in here the other day. Now, there is a WSJ/NBC poll that could hardly be worse.
