The Moscow Times reports this morning that the Russian government will call for “the creation of a supranational reserve currency to be issued by international institutions as part of a reform of the global financial system” at the upcoming G20 meeting in April. Conservative activist/author/converted Christian evangelist Joel Rosenberg says that this was foretold in the book of Revelation, meaning someone out there — probably the Antichrist – is working his dark schemes on the global economy. Me? I think it is the work of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, whose noodly appendages are all over this story. His starchy plans, however, are difficult for mere mortals to fathom.
Count me as one of those who counsels against interpreting current macroeconomic events through the prism of either the New Testament or the Gospel of the FSM.
