Signed Books

I’ve gotten a bunch of inquiries like this one:

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that it’ll be a cold day in hell before you make it to Youngstown for a book signing.

So I’ve been wondering lately if there was a way I could, say, buy a book and send it somewhere where you (or one of your army of munchkin helpers) could sign/bite it and send it back to me. Of course, I’d pay for the shipping and whatever other fees would be incurred, but I have to warn you that I only ship via dogsled, and if there’s not enough snow, my Inuit buy might arrive as disgruntled as the mailman in Funny Farm.

Anyway, I’m actually serious about the autograph/inscription thing. Just wondering if there’s a way to get that done.

Me: While I wouldn’t want to definitively rule out appearances in Youngstown or other locales (I will be in a number of cities), there is good news for those who want a guaranteed signed book. Jack Fowler — publisher extraordinaire — has agreed to buy a limited number of books for National Review which I will be selling signed copies of through NRO (at, alas, a slight premium to what you’d pay at Amazon or Barnes & Noble to cover shipping and the rest). I don’t know how easy it will be to personalize the inscriptions, but I’ll investigate that. Details to come.
