It’s hard to conclude that the DeSantis campaign is anything other than snakebit at this point.
I was away last week for the debate-memo story, but it’s a great example. Of course, when the super PAC posts the documents, the New York Times somehow finds them, guaranteeing negative coverage and, more importantly, giving DeSantis’s opponents a cudgel to use against him later this week — no matter what DeSantis says on stage, it will be attributed to his big-donor puppet-masters.
To mix metaphors, maybe the worm will turn (a stand-out debate performance would help), but this has been a long stretch of bad coverage, bad decisions, and bad breaks.
