Yesterday I was watching the news and there was a clip of that big tornado from earlier this week on the tube. I said to my daughter, “Hey, look at that twister!”
Lucy: Oh, that’s a big one!”
Daddy: Yeah they’re pretty scary.
Lucy: Yes. They’re the same thing as tornadoes.
Daddy: That’s right. They can pick up all sorts of things and throw them very far. Like cars and trucks and houses and even —
Lucy: [Interrupting] — And even bracelets!
Daddy: [suppressed chuckling] Yes. I suppose so. Twisters can pick up cars, trucks, houses and bracelets.
Lucy: [awestruck by nature’s power] Yeah….
