These floor remarks from Republican congressman Thaddeus McCotter are worth listening too. He is very calm and speaks slowly, but his tone is still quite dramatic. He cites interesting poll data about Americans’ perceptions of Congress and government – I checked most of them, and the data is solid. However, to be fair, President Obama was handed a country where opinion of government was very poor; President Bush didn’t help, and neither did President Clinton. Still, we can be sure that Obama not only didn’t change the perception people had of government, but made it much worse.
