Source: David McIntosh to Replace Chris Chocola At Club for Growth

Former Indiana congressman David McIntosh will almost certainly replace Chris Chocola as president of the pro-free-market Club for Growth, according to a source with knowledge of the group’s deliberations.

The move has not been made official because the Club’s board of directors will not meet to vote McIntosh in as president until next week, the source says, and the Club is denying that any changes are in the works.

“I would be shocked if the board didn’t approve McIntosh,” the source says.

McIntosh is a former three-term congressman who won a crowded Republican primary in 1994 with the Club’s support. He left Congress in 2000 to run for governor of Indiana, a race he lost to Democrat Frank O’Bannon. Since then, he has worked as a partner in the Washington office of the Chicago law firm Mayer Brown.

Chocola, another former Indiana congressman, has served as president of the Club for Growth since 2009.
