Austin — Several Texas Republican insiders tell me they expect Attorney General Greg Abbott to announce on Sunday that he plans to run for governor. Austin consultants and operatives have long expected him to run for the office, and Governor Rick Perry’s announcement on Monday that he wouldn’t run for a fourth term confirmed for many that the spot was as good as Abbott’s. He’ll be in San Antonio on Sunday for an event with supporters.
