Sovereignty Alert

Mexico continues to go bonkers over the House-approved expansion of border fencing: The government “pledged Tuesday to block the plan and organize an international campaign against it.” I’m not holding my breath waiting for the State Department to tell these guys to mind their own business — on the other hand, letting the Mexican government rant and rave is probably the best thing for building consensus here for border control. What’s even better is the acknowledgement that U.S. interest groups are serving a foreign agenda: “Mexico has also said it is recruiting U.S. church, community and business groups to oppose the proposal.”
