I was at the Judge and Mary Ellen Bork’s house last night for a fundraiser for the Susan B. Anthony List. I’d be lying if I said the mood was upbeat. But the fight is still on. Stem-cells aside, the choice between Obama and McCain is clear for the folks I met last night. Mike Gerson was among the speakers and he highlighted something Mike Huckabee will never appreciate — it’s a beautiful ecumenical coalition, the anti-abortion movement. He recalled going to one of his first pro-life marches and seeing Liberty University students beside Knights of Columbus with images of the Virgin Mary. That coalition was well-represented at the Borks last night.
