Here’s my column on her today. Getting some negative reaction, but also e-mails like this:
Dear Mr. Lowry,
… My reaction to the last two debates has been “she’s the only grownup in the room”. Both on troop withdrawal (you can’t move more than a division a month) where she showed she’s done homework, and on meeting with despots (don’t want to give them propaganda coups) where she showed that she’s been around the White House, not just the Senate, she’s established herself as — of all things — the least scary Democrat.
I had liked Richardson on their side because he’s cuddly and doesn’t want to take my guns away, but he’s been a fizzle on the national stage. Allowing for the possibility of a Dem win in ‘08, I am shocked to find that the least-bad option is Hillary.
