Special Rapporteurs

Mark: That U.N. Special Rapporteur for Migrants you posted about is presumably a pal of the U.N.’s Special Rapporteur for Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, Mr. Doudou Diène of Senegal, who is currently in the middle of an 18-day tour of inspection, also at the invitation of some person in the U.S. government whose next position should be monitoring outdoor federal weather equipment in Prudhoe Bay, or inspecting the sanitary facilities in federal prisons. Perhaps the two Rapporteurs could meet up to exchange notes somewhere? I’d be glad to suggest suitable venues.

Whatever happened to the fine old American custom of tarring and feathering unwelcome visitors and running them out of town on a rail?
