Spring Reading

April is here, and so therefore is the new Spring 2017 issue of National Affairs. It’s packed with the usual mix of thought-provoking essays on crucial public questions—from how to help disadvantaged students to whether there is any prospect for entitlement reform in the Trump years, how presidents handle public-health crises, whether our parties have a future, how to think about infrastructure, what it would mean to take diversity seriously, whether words still have meaning and character still counts in our politics, what Ben Franklin might have to teach us about today’s political press, and much more.

With the launch of this issue online today, we also mark the debut of our entirely redesigned website, as well as our all-new National Affairs app for your mobile devices. Have a look.

Yuval Levin is the director of social, cultural, and constitutional studies at the American Enterprise Institute and the editor of National Affairs.
