Jonah noted the viceregal rumors about William Shatner a year ago:
Shatner revealed his lofty ambition in response to a letter from a fan who urged him to put himself forward for the Governor General of Canada.
But now a dark horse has entered the race:
Do you think that the proud Canadian, Mark Steyn, could be persuaded to return from the wilds of New Hampshire and take the reins as governor-general? Much as I admire William Tiberius Shatner, and would not be opposed to his appointment, a Governor-General Steyn would provide a younger, more energetic and accurate representation of current Canadian majority’s values.
I see myself as Rubio to Shatner’s Crist, and trust Jonah, like Jeb, will decide to remain officially neutral.
On the other hand, this may be the slowest bandwagon since this one.
