Testifying again today, Rachel Jeantel, the star witness in the George Zimmerman trial, said that one of the defense attorney’s suggestions was “real retarded.”
Jeantel, who was speaking with Trayvon minutes before he was shot and killed, said that she had no reason to doubt anything Trayvon told her on the phone. Don West, attorney for the defense, asked: “Maybe if [Trayvon] decided to assault George Zimmerman, he didn’t want you to know about it.” Jeantel replied: “That’s real retarded, sir. That’s real retarded to do that, sir.”
Some commentators have observed that Jeantel’s demeanor in court has been less-than-friendly both today and yesterday.
