Stonehenge Silliness

So Stonehenge was a burial ground for the entire length of its existence. The notion that this discovery “runs counter to long-held theories” that “the site’s significance lay in its ceremonial and religious functions, including serving as a center for healing,” is ridiculous. It is perfectly common in many societies for holy tombs and burial grounds to be sites of religious ceremonies and ritual healing. This Stonehenge story is being pushed by some combination of ignorance and a desire to over-hype a useful discovery.
