The Corner

Straight from the Horse’s Mouth

Look, folks, you don’t have to take my word for it that the security triggers in the Schumer/Rubio amnesty bill are phony. Here’s Frank Sharry, the Napoleon of open-borders lobbying (to adapt what Holmes said of Moriarty), practically boasting about it:

“The triggers are based on developing plans and spending money, not on reaching that effectiveness, which is really quite clever.”

So, we have a “clever” bill, cooked up by Chuck Schumer’s staff, and dedicated to the memory of Ted Kennedy. And Rubio’s not only still for it, he’s selling it hard. All that song and dance about walking away from the bill if it didn’t meet his requirements was so much kabuki, designed to string conservatives along.

Rubio knows what he’s doing.
