Shuttle buses are lined up outside waiting to take guests to John McCain’s reception in the “Grand Slam Ballroom” at Don Shula’s hotel. The tab to entertain this much-wooed group is being picked by the Senator’s exploratory committee. So I’m off to do a little exploring of my own over at Shula’s place.
Before I sign off, all the talk this morning wasn’t about politics. There was a session devoted to homeland security that included Governor Jeb Bush on a panel with J. Cofer Black and Richard Falkenrath, NYC’s deputy police commissioner for counter-terrorism. The intelligence, prevention, and preparedness demands faced by the states are sobering. Might as well party with the McCains while we can . . . .
