Conservatives seem to believe that there is something permanent in the universe.
There probably isn’t.
Which explains the vaguely anti-scientific bent of some conservatives. A lot of them, really.
Science shows things to be impermanent, constantly changing; some conservatives just can’t take that concept.
Most liberals can.
