We should all take Metzinger’s notion of the “Consciousness Revolution” seriously. The idea is, that mind science is on its way — though it hasn’t yet traveled very far — to demystifying the inner world as the Scientific Revolution demystified the outer one (or at least made us awfully deft at managing it). If this is right, the social and ethical consequences will be tremendous.
