Survey Says

I never would have expected this, at least not so soon:

Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama’s declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they’d rather have his predecessor.

On the other hand, this is not so surprising — I always thought the press exaggerated the level of public disaffection with the war:

National support for the war in Afghanistan has spiked 9 percentage points in the last three weeks, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll of 2,313 registered voters that was released Tuesday.

Fifty-seven percent of those surveyed said they now believed the United States was doing the “right thing” by fighting the war in Afghanistan, up from 48 percent in a similar survey released Nov. 18.
