Among the serious problems with American higher education is that faculty members often hide the true nature of their courses. They’re eager to promote their ideological beliefs to their students, but don’t want others to known. Therefore, their syllabi are couched in vague and unobjectionable terms, leaving out the egregiously politicized content.
Some states have taken steps to put an end to such deception, while many others continue to allow it.
The James G. Martin Center has just released a report on the 50 states with respect to syllabus transparency.
