Tagg Romney Weighing Bid for Mass. Senate

According to the Boston Herald, Mitt Romney’s eldest son, Tagg, may join the race for the Senate seat recently vacated by John Kerry.

Tagg Romney is considering a run in the special Senate election now that Scott Brown has opted out, the Truth Squad has learned.

Calls for Romney, 42, to join in the short campaign to replace Secretary of State John F. Kerry have increased since the Herald first reported heavyweight Republicans are urging both Romney and his mother, Ann, to get in.

Tagg Romney, who has been fairly silent on Twitter since his father’s loss in November, seems to be bolstering his profile. He even posted a pic on Saturday of his two sons getting a haircut at Frank’s Barbershop in Belmont, a neighborhood staple.

Former Massachusetts senator Scott Brown’s decision to stay out of the race has left GOP officials in Massachusetts searching for a strong candidate. On the Democratic side, the primary field, which currently consists of former representatives Edward Markey and Stephen Lynch, is relatively weak. As a result, the prospect of a GOP pickup is real.

On Judge Barrett, Let’s Tell the Truth

Once when I was a kid, my dad held up three fingers and asked, “Does this two look like a three?” Little did I know that this attempted sleight of hand would become a regular feature of the process for appointing federal judges.
