I take issue with Senator Obama’s statement about school choice: “all you’re going to do is leave a lot of kids at the bottom”.
Our son who suffers ADHD was a square peg in a round hole at the public schools – considered to be “at the bottom” by his teachers. We sent him to a private school that SPECIALIZED in such hard cases. He did very well and eventually graduated and is now in college.
School choice will permit schools to specialize in certain curricula, customized to meet the demands of their students and their parents – including those “at the bottom”.
