President Trump Signs GOP Tax-Reform Bill into Law

This morning, President Donald Trump signed the Republican tax bill into law, just before leaving Washington, D.C., to spend Christmas in Florida. The president also signed the continuing resolution, which Congress passed yesterday, a short-term bill that will fund the government through January 19. The CR also funds the widely popular Children’s Health Insurance Program until March.

The enactment of the $1.4 trillion tax-cut legislation — pushed through Congress by the GOP earlier this week — is a significant win for the president and the largest legislative accomplishment this year. It marks the first major reform of the American tax system in over 30 years.
