Team Obama’s Lack of Focus

Republican operatives close to the Romney campaign met with several reporters in D.C. last night. A few thoughts I can pass along:

1) The operatives believe the Obama campaign is unfocused, to its own detriment. They are looking at graphs and charts of what the Obama campaign is doing in various media markets. In most of them Team Obama is running multiple ads with different messages — a fact they interpret as the campaign’s having difficulty adjusting to a more competitive race than it had expected. The Romney campaign’s message discipline was contrasted to this cacophony.

2) The Romney campaign is not going to release the names of its bundlers — or rather, it maintains that since all donors’ names are disclosed, it already has.

3) The campaign is not worried about Arizona, or any of the other states that went for McCain.
