Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) announced that he is running for president, reminding voters of his fight to defund Obamacare and saying, in an apparent shot at Jeb Bush, that “it’s going to take a new generation of conservatives to help make America great again.”
“If you want more of the same, there will be plenty to choose from,” Cruz says in an announcement video released ahead of his speech at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. “But if you want real conservative change, and a proven record, I hope I can earn your support.”
