Thatcher and British Unions

Margaret Thatcher’s dent in the power of British unions can still be felt today. 35 years ago — on March 3, 1985 — the National Union of Mineworkers ended its strike. In 1985, there were 10.8 million union members in Britain. Today, there are 6.23 million.
