Matt Welch has a strange attack/non-attack on President Klaus, whom Jonah is introducing tonight at the CEI Dinner, over at Hit and Run, calling him both an “asshole” and a “visionary and effective leader.” The critique of Mr. Klaus’s politics doesn’t really square with what I — or my friends all over Europe — know about the president, but for the meantime here’s the Iron Lady herself on the man she knows well: “Klaus is one of the most remarkable political figures of our time. His bold and persuasive message should be taken to heart not just in the Central and Eastern European countries but throughout the world.”
