The Corner

That’s Different

On CNN earlier this morning, Anchor Carol Costello was interviewing a woman with relatives stuck in Lebanon. CNN set it up for a little Bush bashing, running a Nicholas Burns tape about efforts to get people out, then throwing it back to the woman, asking if this effort is really as organized as Burns suggested. The woman, onto her, said, with just a hint of “Give me a break, Carol” in her voice, something like, How would I know? All I know is from a few phone calls.

Even average Joe and Jane Americans on TV are always so on point. I loved that this woman didn’t play to part. And best wishes to her family.
