That’s Not Encouraging

So, I’ve listened to 17.5 bajillion flight attendant tutorials on how my seat can be used for a flotation device and directions on how to use my life jacket. Then I read this:

It appears to be the first time that a large commercial jet liner ever has made a successful controlled landing into a body of water.

In that case, I would like a little more instruction on how to respond to my plane breaking up, balls of flame rushing up the aisle and other additional details that would seem to go hand-in-hand with uncontrolled and unsuccessful landings into bodies of water, which are apparently the norm.
