‘The Case for American Power: Why We Must Lead the Free World’

NRI is about to begin a conference in Washington, D.C., by that title. Tom Cotton is giving the keynote, and here’s my little statement about the event:

“The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been an important reminder that history never ended, that there is no substitute for American leadership — and that the isolationism of the left and the right are wrong-headed and dangerous. While some on the right have adopted the premises of the New Left, and assume the worst of U.S. power and make excuses for our enemies, the vast majority of conservatives still understand the importance of strength and know that this is a great and good nation upon which the future of the Western world depends. This conference will speak for them.”
