Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell has announced that the Senate will vote on the Green New Deal. This is a political no-brainer. Let Democrats heading into the 2020 election vote on destroying the oil, gas, coal, auto, health insurance, and steel industries and raising trillions in taxes to pay for it. Let Democrats explain to their base why they voted against it or to swing voters why they voted for it. Let them explain that the bovine genocide and shuttering of long-distance air travel isn’t in the actual proposal, it’s just in the supporting documents that its sponsors put together.
