The Higher-Education Reforms We Hope to See This Year

At the beginning of each new year, the Martin Center staff puts out an article on the higher-education reforms we hope to see. We’ve done it again, and you can read our wish list here.

Our hoped-for changes include: universities embracing institutional neutrality (rather than their current practice of cheerleading for “progressivism”), stopping Biden’s foolish and illegal student-loan giveaway, adopting programs for true civics education, dropping demands for “diversity” statements, and replacing group preferences in admissions with a focus on individual ability and desire to learn.

George Leef is the the director of editorial content at the James G. Martin Center for Academic Renewal. He is the author of The Awakening of Jennifer Van Arsdale: A Political Fable for Our Time.
