I don’t understand how you can clear out protesters last week and then just let them return. Either don’t arrest them and come up with some nonsense explanation why it’s okay to permit them to violate university policy, or clear them right back out after arresting them the first time. What’s happened at Columbia is a victory for the protesters, who have flagrantly defied the university, and shows a concession of cowardice by President Shafik.
