Last week, I wrote that former Indiana governor Mitch Daniels is better suited than House Republican Study Committee chairman Jim Banks to succeed Senator Mike Braun in 2024. (Braun is leaving his Senate seat to run for Indiana governor.) According to a new poll from Bellwether Research, Daniels would clear the field in a hypothetical 2024 senatorial primary. The message from Indiana Republican voters couldn’t be any clearer: The people demand Mitch.
