The ‘Perfect Spokeswoman’ for the French Radical Chic

Lola-Fleur Whittaker, a young, radical left-wing woman, is under fire after mocking business owners whose stores were destroyed during the French riots. On today’s episode of The Editors, Rich asks Andrew, “How can anyone justify such destruction?”

“The socialists . . . always hated small businesses. . . . I’m sure they’re delighted to see the luxury goods being looted, although from the look of Lola-Fleur’s background, her family is well able to afford the luxury goods. It was just an expression of new class disdain for aspiration and hard work. And she was, in a way, the perfect spokeswoman for it,” Andrew says.

“What she reflects is the nature of this coalition which has developed in France of a radical vanguard elite on the left, reinforced of course with the Islamic element in it. And they just don’t care about small businessmen . . . and they’re interested in destroying, they’re interested in power, they’re interested in eliminating opposition.

“Her stupidity is one thing, but she’s a symbol of a much deeper problem.”
