The Tide Turns against TikTok

It looks like the nation is finally awakening to the dangers of TikTok. Texas, Maryland, South Carolina, South Dakota, Alabama, and Utah have all recently decided to bar the Chinese-owned social-media app from government phones and computers because of national-security concerns; Nebraska did so in 2020. In addition, Indiana is suing TikTok for exposing children to adult content. The Biden administration’s director of national intelligence, Avril Haines, says that “parents should be concerned about kids’ privacy and data on TikTok.”

These are all positive developments. TikTok needs to be banned from operating in the United States. The Chinese Communist Party can easily exploit the app for espionage and propaganda purposes. It’s great to see the tide turning.
