Think of Biden’s Speech as a Gigantic Troll

I’m with John Podhoretz, by the way, who makes the case in the New York Post that the point of Biden’s speech last night was to troll Trump. If you look at it this way, it doesn’t matter if the substance was contradictory, the tone wrong, staging awful, etc., so long as the speech elevated Trump and the debate over him. In fact, a bad speech would be more successful in this regard than a carefully wrought, statesmanlike speech.

I don’t give the White House credit for great political acumen, but here I think they basically know what they’re doing. And if Trump seems to be losing ground again and slipping from center stage, they can always indict him.
