Look, maybe I’m just showing my age, but we’re rapidly approaching the 25-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and I cannot imagine anyone thinking that having two passenger airliners flying exceptionally low and close to the top of a South African stadium before a rugby match was a good idea.
Thankfully, everything turned out fine — although as you can see in the video above, one of the planes passed through the fireworks shooting from the stadium’s roof.
Can we hold off on any extra-low flyovers, using passenger airliners, for the next few weeks? Is that really too much to ask?
