Candace Owens suggests that somebody should stab Erika Kirk to prove her hypothesis that Erika is a non-human sentient robot designed to fool humans and that she wouldn’t bleed. pic.twitter.com/US22dvVUT4

At some point, I think that we have to stop treating the above as political content given in earnest. This person doesn’t do what it is that I do. And I definitely don’t do what Candace does. Our respective lines of work are not the same species of things. For my part, I try to think about politics and culture for those who like to engage with it directly. Candace, on the other hand, produces content that takes political figures and renders them in such a way that listeners and viewers can enjoy climbing up and down their own internal mental derangement.
Still, I’m grateful for the unintended reminder of The Flaming Lips song Yoshimi vs the Pink Robots:
Those evil-natured robots (I’ll get you, Yoshimi)
They’re programmed to destroy us
She’s gotta be strong to fight them
So she’s takin’ lots of vitamins
[Pre-Chorus]
‘Cause she knows that (‘Cause she knows that)
It’d be tragic (It’d be tragic)
If those evil robots win (Evil robots)
I know she can beat them
