Thoughts on the Debate

In the debate, Romney exhibited competence and obviously solid coaching, while Gingrich raised the bar by showing an ability to apply succinct strategic frameworks to the issues. Wolf Blitzer was a prepared, brisk moderator who kept the debate focused on the candidates and not himself. AEI and Heritage had mostly sensible questions that highlighted their stable of analysts too much. There was not one question about Russia or the possible breakup of the EU.
