Today, Gallup Has Romney Leading by Five Points Nationally

Today, Gallup’s seven-day likely voters poll shows Mitt Romney leading by five points nationally, 51-46. This has not changed since yesterday. The much bigger news is that Obama’s approval rating seems to be tanking: In the last couple of days, per Gallup, Obama’s approval rating has dropped five points, and his disapproval rating has increased by the same number. This leaves the president underwater, 46-49, which continues a downward trend. On Wednesday, Obama’s approval rating was 53 percent.

Among the registered voters Gallup polled, Romney and Obama are tied, 48-48.

Meanwhile, Rasmussen’s daily national tracking poll today shows Mitt Romney leading by four points, 50-46. In Rasmussen’s swing state poll, Romney is leading by six points, 51-45.
